Data Science Manager

Role OverviewAs Principal Data & AI Consultant you will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of Data & AI projects, ensuring they achieve the expected business impact. Your work spans pre‑sales, delivery and post‑sales relationship management, positioning you as a trusted advisor to clients.
Responsibilities- Help clients achieve their Data & AI ambitions across a variety of projects
- Data / AI Strategy & Transformation: identify value‑adding use cases, assess client maturity and execute transformation roadmaps
- Development of Bespoke AI Solutions: lead use‑case discovery, manage product backlogs, supervise delivery teams and ensure user acceptance
- Development of Data / AI Platforms: align architectures to user requirements, define service and operating models, oversee delivery of data products
- Structure complex consulting engagements, steer project delivery, ensure quality of deliverables and manage customer expectations and satisfaction
- Facilitate collaboration across interdisciplinary stakeholders, bridging delivery teams (Data scientists, engineers, architects, software developers) with business stakeholders from CxOs to junior staff
- Support consultants and business developers across the sales pipeline: early positioning meetings, development of concrete consulting proposals
- Serve as an ambassador and thought leader: publish impactful content and speak at professional events
- Create reusable assets to improve team effectiveness: packaged consulting offerings, templates or demonstrators
- University degree from a leading institution in business or STEM
- 8+ years in hybrid consulting and Data & AI‑related work experience
- Strong consulting foundations: effective communication, project management, workshops, consulting sales, pragmatism and output‑focused work
- Experience in one or more verticals (banking, insurance, life science, manufacturing) with deep knowledge of the value chain, challenges, and key trends, especially related to Data & AI
- Expertise in data and/or AI strategy, governance, and management with deep understanding of structuring and overseeing initiatives
- Expertise with Data & AI implementation projects, from idea to production
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, build and lead interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
- Assertive, eloquent, proactive and enthusiastic
- Customer‑centric, able to think and communicate across disciplines and levels of seniority
- Results‑oriented with the ability to win over stakeholders and decision‑makers
