Skin™ has successfully completed Phase I in burns patients. Clinical Phase III studies are underway in Europe and Switzerland.
For our Research and Development (R&D) department in Schlieren, Switzerland, we are seeking a highly motivated:
We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative and curious-minded individual who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. This person will play a key role in supporting the R&D efforts for improving CUTISS’ manufacturing process (development of an automated manufacturing device), producing skin equivalents for research purposes (biological mechanism of action and Proof of Concept studies for CUTISS’ product denovo
SkinTM), as well as assisting in the technology transfer from R&D to CUTISS’ GMP Operations team.
- Perform 2D and 3D mammalian cell culture experiments, including the production of 3D skin equivalents for research purposes, individually and in a team
- Test prototype cell culture equipment for automated manufacturing processes for denovoSkinTM
- Perform Flow Cytometry assays on fresh skin isolates, 2D-cultivated cells, and cells dissociated from 3D tissue-engineered constructs (upon demand)
- Conduct in-house analytical testing, coordinate tasks with external Service Providers/third parties where needed
- Plan studies under the supervision of the R&D Manager and/or direct supervisor
- Lead execution of studies including experimental work, data analysis and documentation, reporting of study results
- Provide regular and efficient updates to the R&D Manager and/or direct supervisor
- Assist technology transfer from R&D to Manufacturing (GMP)
- Carry out routine lab activities (including material preparation, laboratory maintenance, inventory management, Biobank & Storage, etc.)
You hold a
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in a biological field (e.g., cell/molecular biology, tissue engineering, biotechnology, or biomedicine) or have a comparable education. Additionally, you have a minimum of 2-3 years of practical laboratory work experience in industry. Furthermore, you are proactive, team-oriented and possess strong communication skills. Additionally, organizational skills and interest in working in a Scale‑Up environment are crucial.
- Experience in working with mammalian cell cultures, strong aseptic working skills
- Willing to work with human skin and primary cells, strong interest in cell therapies
- Experience with in vitro cellular and biochemical assays
- Experience with Flow Cytometry protocols and analyses
- Experience with hydrogel production and cultivation is an added plus
- Experience working in a GLP and/or in a GMP environment is an added plus
- Interest in working inter-departmental between R&D and Manufacturing (GMP) for process improvements & alignments
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Interest in learning and developing novel research concepts and assays
- Occasional weekend work (~4h every 3 weeks)
