Purpose of Role:

The (Senior) Research Assistant / Research Associate provides hands‑on support across analytical testing, formulation support, material characterization and laboratory operations within the R&D team. The role is responsible for independently executing laboratory experiments, developing and optimizing analytical methods, supporting the characterization of peptide‑based materials and formulations, and contributing to the continuous development of the laboratory's analytical capabilities.

The position is intended for an experienced laboratory professional who enjoys practical laboratory work, supports R&D, and brings expertise in analytical techniques, while helping establish and expand the laboratory's analytical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods for peptide‑containing formulations and raw materials (e.g., HPLC) to support characterization of peptides, formulations, raw materials, and finished products.
  • Contribute to the installation and implementation of new laboratory equipment and analytical capabilities.
  • Support and independently execute the planning, preparation, execution, and documentation of laboratory experiments.
  • Collaborate closely with formulation scientists and R&D colleagues to support the development and characterization of peptide‑based formulations.
  • Analyse experimental results, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to scientific interpretation of data.
  • Troubleshoot analytical methods, laboratory equipment, and experimental workflows to ensure reliable and reproducible results.
  • Prepare solutions, reagents, samples, and consumables required for laboratory experiments and support daily laboratory operations.
  • Record experimental and operational data accurately and maintain organized laboratory records and documentation.
  • Ensure laboratory organization, safety, and compliance with internal procedures and good documentation practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes and workflows.
  • Support ordering and coordination of laboratory consumables, chemicals, and equipment, including purchase order follow‑up with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for calibration and maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Laboratory Technology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3–6 years of industrial laboratory experience, depending on level; in a structured or regulated environment preferred.
  • Practical experience with HPLC operation; experience with method development is an advantage.
  • Experience with material characterization techniques such as SEM, Micro‑CT, or similar analytical instrumentation is an advantage.
