POSITION SUMMARY

Facilitates and organizes high-quality, member-focused swim lesson programs. The hourly rate is $19.86

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Organizes rosters, provides roll call, and takes attendance

Secures class timeliness

Addresses parents concerns in a positive and professional manner

Oversees the Lifeguards and Swim Instructors to make sure all safety protocols are adhered to while programs are running

Assists in the administration and distribution of progress reports to Instructors and then to swim participants. The Aquatic Deck Supervisor is to proofread all progress reports prior to releasing them to swim participants

Assists in Instructor coverage for swim lessons

Acts as swim instructor and/or lifeguard as needed

Provides aquatic safety through promoting sound teaching methods under Y Swim Lessons principles, maintenance of proper discipline, and class control

Communicates any parent issues or concerns directly to the Aquatic Director

Attends and helps facilitate regularly scheduled staff meetings and/or in-service trainings

Accountable for understanding the organization’s charitable status and mission to assure access for all through active participation in fundraising and philanthropy efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum age 18

Possess current YMCA swim instructor certifications as well as American Red Cross Lifeguarding.

Oxygen Administration certification must be current or completed within 30 days of hire

Minimum of one-year teaching Y Swim Lessons

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
