Assistant Swim Coaches

Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is seeking assistant swim coaches.

We are looking for individuals interested in coaching a competitive swim team and who are responsible, motivated and want to work in a fast-paced environment.

Under the direction of the Director of Competitive Aquatics, assistant coaches will develop and reinforce technique standards as well as run workouts with the designated practice groups. The hourly rate is $18.73.

Essential Functions:

• Instruct a group of swimmers in accordance with YMCA guidelines and practice plans designed by the Director of Competitive Aquatics or Head Age Group Coaches
• Build effective, authentic relationships with swimmers and parents
• Provide positive, encouraging and specific feedback on a daily basis in regard to technique
• Maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, pool deck and surrounding areas
• Attend assigned dual meets, invitational meets and championship meets
• Attend meetings, clinics, banquets, fundraisers, and other team social functions as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
