Rate of Pay:
Pay Range is $ per hour (based on experience) and board paid IMRF.

JOB SUMMARY

The RtI Instructional Aide will work with small groups to provide instruction to struggling learners in reading, writing and mathematics, implementing district approved curricula and programs and following teacher created lessons. The instructional aide takes no independent actions, but has some decision-making authority limited and regulated by board policy and state law. This also applies to those instructional aides who may hold degrees or certificates.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a valid IL paraprofessional license.

Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education; completed 60 semester hours of college credit at a regionally accredited institution of higher education; HS Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro; or HS Diploma or GED and passing scores on the ACT Workkeys.

Must be at least 19 years of age.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators, and the general public.

Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.

Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Requires employees to have the ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.

Must be detail oriented.

Successful prior instructional aide experience for elementary grade levels preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide meaningful learning experiences to address knowledge and skills of students within the curriculum.

Provide instruction to students, empowering them to meet their individual academic and career goals.

Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, modifying instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs.

Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying learning issues, and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning.

Conducts remedial learning activities, incorporating a variety of teacher provided instructional methods and materials.

Administers evaluation instruments and procedures to monitor the student progress and the effectiveness of instruction.

Documents teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes.

Coordinates with RtI teachers regarding reading, writing and mathematics assessments and remedial teaching techniques.

Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.

Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school’s standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of students behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the
