Intake Specialist – Part Time
The Intake Specialist is responsible for the intake process at the facility, liaising with remote admissions teams and establishing a professional rapport with clients to ensure they feel welcomed upon arrival. The role includes supporting client arrival procedures, conducting initial assessments, searching client belongings for prohibited items, orienting clients to the facility, and ensuring required documentation and paperwork are completed and maintained.
This is a part‑time PRN position located in California.
Hourly rate: $24.00 – $27.60 per hour (DOE), with shift differential for overnight shifts and overtime eligibility.

Shifts:
Saturdays, 8 hours per shift with overtime eligibility.
- Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures.
- Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patients and other sources.
- Respond promptly to inquiry calls.
- Schedule and conduct pre‑admission assessments.
- Assist prospective patients and their significant others in seeking treatment.
- Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance.
- Coordinate with referral sources and coordinate transportation arrangements for patients.
- Maintain all documentation involved with the admissions process.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- One year of experience in healthcare admissions, preferably in the mental health or substance abuse field.
- Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC), Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC), or Certified Employee Assistance Program (CEAP) certification preferred.
- CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required; training available upon hire and offered by the facility.
- First aid may be required based on state or facility policy.
