About the Role:

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by delivering high-quality clinical and administrative assistance in a medical setting. This position ensures the smooth operation of patient care activities by preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures. The Medical Assistant acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare professionals, facilitating effective communication and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Additionally, this role involves managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and handling insurance documentation to support efficient practice management. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes to enhancing patient outcomes and the overall efficiency of the healthcare facility.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program (e.g., CMA, RMA).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly EPIC.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a clinical or outpatient healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording symptoms.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by providing necessary instruments and support.
  • Manage patient documentation, including updating medical records and entering data into EPIC.
  • Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and handle insurance verification and billing processes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control protocols and managing medical supplies.
