Job Summary:Under general direction, installs, maintains, and repairs plant machinery, equipment, and physical structures related to aggregate pit and plant screening operations; also assists with general plant/pit operations as needed.
Qualified candidates will have a solid mechanical aptitude and basic to intermediate welding and fabrication experience. Must be willing to perform a variety of duties in all areas of plant operations and enjoy working primarily outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Main Responsibilities:- Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials accurately
- Communicate professionally with others in person, over the phone, and on company radio channels
- Perform manual/physical tasks required in plant operation and maintenance activities
- Work closely with plant operators, equipment operators, drivers and others in completion of assigned tasks
- Maintain plant equipment and facilities to meet operating requirements and objectives
- Visually inspect and test plant machinery and equipment
- Perform maintenance tasks on plant equipment and facilities
- Perform repairs to worn processing equipment according to plant standards
- Collect data for preventative and predictive plant maintenance projects
- Perform welding and cutting assignments, including fabrication for plant equipment and structures
- Inspect lubrication of mechanical equipment, record data for running equipment, take lab samples as required
- Change oil and filters on fixed and mobile machinery
- Operate mobile heavy industrial equipment and/or company vehicles used to complete maintenance and perform other tasks involved in plant maintenance and operation as required
- Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/tech school training a plus
- MSHA certification or ability to acquire certification required
- Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required
- 3+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience with aggregate processing (crushing) equipment
- Proficiency in operation of industrial and heavy equipment
- Proficiency with mobile devices and other technology used in daily operations
