SummaryAssists in the overall activities of the accounts payable operation under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned.
- Maintains positive relationships with all vendors.
- Processes incoming invoices in a timely manner, obtaining correct approvals as required.
- Verifies that all invoices received are properly approved, coded, and are supported by necessary documentation (purchase orders, receiving reports, and / or service slips) according to Enterprise policies and procedures.
- Interacts with purchasing and receiving departments to process invoices for payment.
- Completes weekly payment run of checks and / or ACH payments (matching invoices, gathering approvals, and processing vendor payment) on a timely basis.
- Ensures proper and timely payment of all outstanding invoices.
- Adheres to vendor licensing rules and regulations required by the State Gaming Compact and Tribal Licensing.
- Assists in month‑end work such as analyzing outstanding invoices, open receivers and open purchase orders.
- Processes bi‑weekly garnishments from payroll.
- Reviews vendor statements for outstanding invoices.
- Processes Federal, State and SRPMIC tax payments for the casino.
- Assists with other financial functions as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required.
- Responsible for following the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect cardholder data and adhere to the standards to protect guests’ private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, either of customers or by employees, as defined by PCI.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; one to three years related experience in full time accounting or accounts payable work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of accounting software (AS400 / Infinium, Oracle Cloud, and Data Magine experience a plus), and Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word).
Other QualificationsMust have good oral and written communications skills and ability to deal with sensitive and confidential data. Must be able to work harmoniously with co‑workers and be a team player. Must present a well‑groomed appearance.
Language SkillsMust be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
