Axel Automotive provides software for the automotive retail industry. Our flagship product, Axel One, brings a dealership's data from its DMS, CRM, HR, web, and analytics sources into a single private cloud, then validates and normalizes it into 150+ industry-standard reports. Xpert, our built-in AI layer, lets dealership teams ask questions of their data in plain English and get role-based, actionable insights, so dealers can make faster decisions, run more efficiently, and increase profits.

You've run the books at a dealership or dealer group. This role lets you bring that experience into a SaaS finance function while putting it to work with our dealership clients. It splits roughly evenly between two responsibilities.

• Own the monthly close, GAAP financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Apply ASC 606 to subscription revenue
• Manage AP, AR, accruals, and cash reporting
• Maintain internal controls and support audit, tax, and diligence requests
• Build and improve finance processes as we scale

• Serve as a senior, finance-literate point of contact for dealership leadership, including dealer principals, owners, general managers, CFOs, and group executives
• Help clients get the most from Axel, drawing on your knowledge of dealer accounting, DMS workflows, F&I, and fixed operations reporting
• Visit client sites for onboarding, process reviews, and executive-level relationship check-ins (~25% travel)
• Bring client and market insight back to our product and leadership teams

• Prior experience as a Controller (or equivalent senior accounting leader) in automotive retail
• Strong command of GAAP; CPA or equivalent preferred
• Working knowledge of dealership DMS platforms and dealer accounting practices
• Credibility and presence with dealership executives, and comfort in consultative, peer-level conversations
• Willingness to travel to client sites (~25%)

You do not need prior account management or customer success experience. Your dealership finance background is what matters, and we'll teach you the rest.
