Overall Purpose

This position is part of the Network Governance, Risk and Operations organization, one function of which is to establish and enforce common rules and standards for Early Warning’s products and services, including the Zelle Payments Network. This position is responsible for developing, interpreting and ensuring appropriate operating rules are developed in support of the company’s products and services, as well as the associated governance and implementation requirements.

The role will coordinate cross-functionally to determine the need for new rules and how to best implement them to achieve the company’s business objectives. As such, this role will work on a broad range of initiatives that will require a strong appreciation of the company’s products and processes.

Essential Functions
  • Develop new and revise existing rules in support of the company’s products and payments business strategy, and in pace with industry developments;
  • Drive operation and governance of key working groups and governance processes in support of rules and risk management processes;
  • Assist in identifying business needs for analysis and implementation of operational/technical solutions in support of new Rules
  • Evaluate and recommend action on requests for rule changes from both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Support Senior Director, Operating Rules in liaising with product, operations and technology teams to create rules that support new or evolving products and services;
  • Ensure alignment with the strategic plan and compliance with applicable regulations;
  • Drive the periodic update and delivery of rules, notification of change documents and other related documents;
  • Provide consulting and guidance to internal and external partners on the interpretation and application of rules;
  • Ensure rules comply with all contractual obligations including other networks and provide consultation to product teams on industry standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • Eight or more years’ experience in payments industry, preferably in a network risk, rules or compliance function;
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams;
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills with all levels of the organization, as well as senior executives and customers;
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to build partnerships and alliances internally and with external partners at all levels of the organization;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to make recommendations;
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to work independently;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and achieve objectives in a fast-paced environment;
  • Unyielding commitment to highest professional ethics;
  • Approved background and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or similar advanced degree a plus

The base pay scale for this position in:

Phoenix, AZ in USD per year is: $129,000 - $161,000.

Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
