A Surveyor is responsible for surveying the land available for construction projects. The responsibilities of a construction surveyor include preparation of worksheets, plans, boundary descriptions; providing consultation on land development projects; read a blue print and map; surveying land for various project sites; and communicating with clients, staff, and construction crew.  Assist Supervisor or perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Skills
*** Be organized and able to follow verbal and written instructions
* Be able to work with others and also to work independently on assigned tasks
* Be proficient in use of, but not limited to, GPS, Total Station, tape measure and other surveying equipment
* Be able to read blueprints, maps and other required surveying or project documents
* Put away equipment/tools at the end of the day, and maintain good housekeeping and safety at all times
** Basic Employment Requirements
*** Prior experience with heavy construction staking, topo, GPS and conventional methods of surveying
* Be committed to work safely and to wear all of the required safety equipment
* Be able to read and understand Safety and Employment requirements
* Be dependable and consistent with regards to attendance and punctuality
* Willing and able to work extended hours and possible nights and weekends as required
* Tolerate temperature extremes and changing jobsite conditions *(rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
***** Education/Other Requirements
*** High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
* Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering desired
* Certified survey technician designation is a plus
* Proficient mathematical and computer skills
