SUMMARY
Provides a variety of technical support to events held by Scottsdale Arts. Job function may vary depending on the event and is assigned as needed by the Production Manager or their designee. This is a part-time position, rate of pay $17.06-$26.25/hour depending on assignment.
Note:
Scottsdale Arts requires all staff to be fully vaccinated and boosted prior to their start date. We do have exemptions for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs that would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if we can accommodate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (UNDER DIRECTION OF SUPERVISOR):
1. Assists in the load-in, set-up, running and strike and load-out of sound systems, stage lighting, audio/visual and theatrical equipment necessary for specific events.
2. Must work from oral and written instructions specific to the event.
3. Assists with maintenance of all theater equipment and work spaces.
4. Ensures safe working environment at all times.
5. Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Education:
High School, GED or equivalent in experience in addition to the experience line. - Experience:
Any combination equivalent to two years’ experience in technical theater support. - Attributes:
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, visiting artists, and general public.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common and technical journals.
- Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers or members of the business community.
- Ability to add, subtract and calculate percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Noise level is moderate to heavy. Non-smoking work environment. This position requires the availability for a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, evenings and weekends working as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Must sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, see, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant and color vision. Must be agile enough to work on catwalks up to 45 feet above ground.
