Senior Preschool Teacher – SARRC (Scottsdale, AZ)
We invite you to apply for the Senior Preschool Teacher position at Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC), a nonprofit that advances research and provides long‑term support for individuals with autism and their families.
About the RoleAs a Senior Preschool Teacher at SARRC, you will create a nurturing, stimulating learning environment for preschool‑aged children, implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and fostering social‑emotional growth. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support each child’s individual needs, contributing to our mission of inclusive, evidence‑based education.
Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development & Implementation:
Design and implement play‑based learning that respects individual and group needs, culture, and developmental milestones. - Classroom Management:
Create a positive, structured, inclusive environment promoting learning, social interaction, and emotional well‑being. Apply positive behavior supports and strategies. - Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
Observe, document, and assess children’s progress, using data to inform instruction and communicate with families. - Team
Collaboration:
Work with preschool teachers, lead teachers, and other staff to coordinate services. Mentor, train, and guide teachers at the campus. - Program Support:
Support training of new team members, provide program tours for prospective non‑treatment students, and assist with child‑care licensing checks.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent GED. - Experience:
Minimum 6 months of successful experience in a preschool setting. - Certifications:
Must obtain RBT certification (training provided in‑house).
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Candidates must possess the physical ability to perform the following tasks consistently throughout the workday:
- Prolonged Standing & Movement:
Stand, walk, and move dynamically around the classroom and playground for extended periods. - Lifting & Transferring:
Safely lift, position, and transfer moderate amounts of weight as needed; assist in crisis management or transition support. - Bending, Squatting, Kneeling:
Frequently bend, squat, kneel, or sit on the floor to interact with children at their level.
$22 per hour
ScheduleMonday – Friday; no weekends. 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
