Lead Operator – Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

We are seeking a Lead Operator with BESS knowledge to join our DEPCOM Power Operations & Maintenance (O&M) group. This role is essential to the operation and maintenance of our energy storage facilities.

Schedule can be structured as 4 shifts of 10 hours or 5 shifts of 8 hours, depending on operational needs and employee preferences.

• Monitor operations for 50+ solar sites, including a growing number of BESS-related facilities.
• Operate equipment remotely to maintain safety and efficiency of on-site operations (e.g., opening breakers, moving trackers).
• Respond proactively to alerts, ensuring proper communication across internal teams (maintenance, warranty, utility operators).
• Follow operating instructions from utilities, including adjusting plant voltage levels and reactive power outputs.
• Provide technical insights and train fellow operators, sharing specialized BESS knowledge.
• Support warranty teams by identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions for claim submissions.

• Working knowledge of BESS at a utility scale.
• Experience operating electrical power plants.

• Experience analyzing complex data and operating advanced energy systems.
• Skilled in identifying system performance anomalies from monitoring dashboards.
