Commissioning Technician
Join DEPCOM Power, Inc, a Koch Industries company, as a Commissioning Technician. In this role you will deliver commissioning support for upcoming and ongoing solar plant projects, oversee subcontractors on‑site, provide hands‑on guidance and ensure a smooth commissioning process.
What You Will Do- Coordinate and perform commissioning activities under general guidance.
- Maintain documentation for all equipment and systems required on projects.
- Participate in daily/weekly progress meetings with subcontractors.
- Assist in preparation of plans at the beginning of projects for receiving, storing and managing materials and tools.
- Provide training to subcontractors and third‑party vendors, including LOTO and Energized Zone Training.
- Maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists and LOTO logs.
- Coordinate and perform field troubleshooting of commissioned equipment and generate methods of procedures.
- Assist in startup of commissioned equipment.
- Manage time and work priorities independently.
- Consistently apply and demonstrate the company Guiding Principles and values.
- Work outdoors, exposed to the elements.
- Sit, stand, walk short distances and climb stairs occasionally.
- Use hands to grasp, lift and handle objects up to 40 lbs.
- Comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- Reach above shoulder height and below waist frequently, including kneeling or bending.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office.
- Can work weekends and holidays.
- Travel up to 80 % to project sites.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of PV systems (DC and AC components).
- Experience with SCADA infrastructure.
- OSHA 30 and/or NFPA 70.E certification.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Understanding of prerequisite testing for PV plant startup (ground testing, insulation resistance, VLF, VOCs, IV curve tracing).
- Experience managing and directing a team.
- Construction and/or commercial electrical experience.
Up to 80 % travel to project sites, including weekends and holidays.
CompensationPay range: $31.00 – $40.00 per hour.
