Role Overview

The Mortgage Loan Set Up position plays a crucial role in the mortgage lending process, ensuring that all necessary documentation and information are accurately prepared and processed for loan origination. This role requires a detail‑oriented individual with a strong understanding of financial services, underwriting, and loan processing. The ideal candidate will work closely with loan officers and other team members to facilitate a smooth transition from application to approval.

• Prepare and organize loan files for underwriting and processing, ensuring compliance with FNMA guidelines.
• Conduct credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility and risk factors.
• Review contracts and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in the loan origination process by gathering necessary information from applicants.
• Ensure adherence to Fair Housing regulations throughout the mortgage process.
• Collaborate with escrow agents to facilitate timely closings.
• Utilize basic math skills for calculations related to loan amounts, interest rates, and payment structures.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications related to mortgage loans.
• Perform 10 key typing tasks efficiently for data entry purposes.

• Knowledge of FNMA guidelines and mortgage servicing practices.
• Experience in underwriting and loan processing is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with TILA regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of financial services, banking operations, and credit analysis.
• Previous experience as a loan officer or in a similar role is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in basic math calculations relevant to mortgage lending.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
