The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the company’s tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role involves preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns, assisting with tax provisions under ASC 740, and supporting audits and special projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of tax laws, and the ability to work cross‑functionally in a dynamic environment.
WhatYou Will Do
- Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
- Maintain and reconcile tax accounts and support general ledger accuracy
- Prepare and review federal, state and local income tax returns, estimated payments and extensions with relevant work papers
- Conduct extensive research of federal and state laws and ASC 740 guidance for income tax and the tax provision respectively
- Work on special tax projects as necessary, including amended tax returns, year‑end planning, research, preparation of technical memorandum and verbal communication of findings with other members of the tax department
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives, leveraging tax technology tools and ERP systems to improve data accuracy and efficiency
- Develop general corporate tax technical expertise as well as specialized tax knowledge
- Assist in tax audits and provide documentation and analysis to support company’s position
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- MST and/or CPA a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax compliance and ASC 740 with a large multinational corporation and/or big ‑4 accounting firm
- Technical skills: knowledge of United States tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles; proficiency in ASC 740 and US compliance state and federal
- Analytical skills: strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to real‑world scenarios; proven ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment with meeting deadlines with accurate and detail results
- Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax issues to non‑tax professionals and senior management
- Systems: proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Outlook). Experience with Workday, One Source, and Alteryx is a plus
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment with consistently meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results
Job Title: Senior Tax Analyst
Location: US - Remote (Phoenix, AZ preferred)
Salary Range: $79,223.00 – $ USD (base, with eligibility for annual performance bonus or commission)
