Position SummaryThe Corporate Controller serves as the right‑hand of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), ensuring integrity of financial reporting and leading accounting operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller oversees the complete accounting function, from daily transaction processing to annual audit, maintaining GAAP compliance. The role combines technical expertise with leadership, managing reconciliations and developing accounting staff, while providing critical insights that guide business decisions.
Job Duties- Maintain general ledger accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Oversee month‑end and year‑end close, delivering statements within 5 business days.
- Oversee the annual audit process.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy.
- Monitor and document internal controls.
- Perform cash position analysis and forecasting.
- Process and authorize electronic fund transfers and wire payments.
- Manage banking relationships and corporate accounts.
- Maintain debt schedules with accurate interest calculations.
- Oversee credit card and corporate spending programs.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff (currently 4 members), including performance evaluations and succession planning.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Review and approve payroll processing in Paycom.
- Oversee accounts payable workflows and vendor cycles.
- Manage expense reporting policies and reimbursement processes.
- Collaborate on Net Suite optimization and system enhancement projects.
- Generate insurance reports, partner commission analyses, and ad hoc financial reporting as requested.
- Provide financial analysis supporting business decisions, including variance analysis and trend identification.
- Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate data and insights.
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by the CFO.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Net Suite preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills for complex financial data.
- Proven ability to supervise, coach, and develop accounting professionals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and influence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
- 7+ years progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory or senior role.
