Overview

Lead Direct Care Professional (Lead DCP) coordinate and maintain a therapeutic environment for our Residential Treatment Center. The position protects the health and safety of individuals, assists Program Coordinators with the supervising, planning, and implementation of program activities while managing children’s behaviors. Lead DCPs serve as mentors and have fun with kids doing year‑round activities such as art projects, music groups, animal therapy, various athletics (basketball, soccer, Frisbee, etc.),

and adulthood transition preparation. They also serve as role models, leaders, and trainers for Direct Care Professional staff.

Located on a beautiful 10‑acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona’s 24‑hour Residential Treatment Center (RTC) serves 52 children ages 7 to 17 experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The campus features dormitories, a therapeutic K‑12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services.

• Coordinate a therapeutic environment and maintain safety for clients.

• Plan, implement, and document therapeutic activities that meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of children on campus.

• Supervise children’s behaviors and assist Program Coordinators with program planning and implementation.

• Mentor Direct Care Professional staff, model best practices, and train new staff.

• Participate in the planning, implementation, and documentation of activities designed for individual children and clients on campus.

• Maintain a positive, inclusive environment that supports client growth and staff teamwork.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred.
• One (1) year of work experience in behavioral health service delivery or Six (6) months Devereux experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License is required; must be able to pass a 36‑month DMV check.
• Pre‑employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
• Drug test within 24hrs of offer with negative results.
• Must be able to attend two (2) weeks of new hire orientation Mon‑Fri 8:30am‑5pm (paid).

Pay Range: $20 – $22 / hr.

Shift Differentials: $1/hr. 3pm‑11pm and $2/hr. 11pm‑7am, 7 days/wk.

Various Full‑Time Schedule Options; ability to work afternoons/nights and weekends.
