Responsibilities

Job Summary The Analyst – IT Application – Pharmacist – Research leverages clinical pharmacy and research expertise to optimize EMR functionality, support protocol activation, and ensure safe and efficient medication-use processes for research patients. This role ensures regulatory compliance, billing accuracy, and operational efficiency across the research enterprise, serving as a subject matter expert in investigational drug workflows and pharmacy informatics.

Functions

Clinical & Research Workflow Optimization

  • Design, configure, and maintain EPIC medication builds, investigational drug records, and treatment plans.
  • Troubleshoot medication ordering, dispensing, documentation, and billing workflows.
  • Support integration of research platforms (Vestigo, CTMS) with EPIC and pharmacy systems.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure builds comply with protocol requirements, regulatory standards, and institutional policies.
  • Maintain documentation of standards, change requests, and testing protocols.
  • Educate staff on Change Control and compliance processes.

System Design, Configuration & Maintenance

  • Implement and support files, tables, and databases across domains.
  • Maintain master files, profiles, and dictionaries; recommend standardized conventions.
  • Apply analytical tools to evaluate and improve medication-use processes.

Project & Change Management

  • Lead or contribute to moderate-to-high complexity projects using IT project management tools.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to prioritize needs and review new functionality.
  • Provide off-hours support for incidents, upgrades, and go-lives.

Education, Training & Mentorship

  • Train pharmacy and research staff on EMR workflows.
  • Serve as preceptor for pharmacy informatics students and mentor colleagues.
  • Support education and implementation of pharmacy-related initiatives.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as liaison between departments, vendors, and work teams.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals on investigational and standard-of-care therapies.
  • Build collaborative relationships across Honor Health and external partners.
Education

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

D.) or equivalent Pharmacy degree
- Required

Experience

5+ years Healthcare, pharmacy informatics, or clinical research IT
- Required

EPIC modules (Willow, Beacon) - Preferred

Investigational Drug Services or clinical trial workflows - Preferred

Medication builds across specialties - Preferred

Vestigo or similar IDS software - Preferred

License and Certifications

Active Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in Arizona
- Required

EPIC certification in relevant modules (Willow Inpatient, Beacon) - Preferred (or obtained within timeframe)
