Psychological Assistant

Location:

Scottsdale, AZ

Description

Administer evaluations for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Daily tasks include intake procedures with parents and administration of various psychological assessments including cognitive, adaptive, social‑emotional, and autism measures.

Practices under the supervision of a licensed psychologist and all final diagnoses are determined by the licensed psychologist.

Duties
  • Perform clinical intakes with families, establishing strong rapport to accurately determine concerns.
  • Conduct developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and/or academic assessments directly with patients, working with children of various ages to administer protocols.
  • Share assessment results and diagnostic information with patients under supervising psychologist’s direction.
  • Combine assessment data into a comprehensive psychological report designed to access appropriate support services, to be provided to the supervising psychologist within 2 weeks following the assessment.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding continuation of care or follow‑up questions as needed.
  • Participate in DEPS‑specific training and demonstrate proficiency in models as outlined in training modules.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge and work experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and educational support systems.
  • Proficient in administering and scoring psychological measures with children.
  • Minimum of a 2‑year graduate degree in school/clinical psychology or related field.
  • Strong clinical interviewing skills.
  • Proven ability to work with children with special needs.
  • Full‑time position (40 hr/week).
