Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the HR department across a broad range of human resources activities, including onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, and process improvement. This role ensures effective and consistent application of policies and procedures to maintain legal compliance and alignment with Cornerstone values. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-focused, and experienced in delivering HR support in a fast-paced banking and financial services consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Assist with payroll audits, and related queries.
  • Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee inquiries.
  • Manage leave of absence tracking and documentation.
  • Maintain HRIS system, including workflows, position management, and employee records.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws by submitting reports and supporting audit preparation.
  • Process personnel and compensation changes, and draft internal notifications.
  • Coordinate and support employee relations and investigations.
  • Assist with compensation benchmarking and cycle planning.
  • Prepare HR metrics and reports, including headcount and turnover.
  • Maintain HR SharePoint and distribute employee communications and notices.
  • Assist with drafting policies and process documentation.
  • Contribute to HR-related projects, including system/process improvements and M&A integration.
  • Track and file workers' compensation claims and follow-ups.
  • Ability to support Payroll and Recruiting functions on occasion.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, procedures, and employment law compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with payroll, benefits, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
Problem Solving / Analysis
  • Uses sound judgment to resolve day-to-day HR issues.
  • Escalates complex matters appropriately while offering data-driven insights.
  • Identifies areas for improvement in HR processes and suggests solutions.
Business Impact and Scope
  • Supports HR operations essential to maintaining workforce compliance and employee experience.
  • Impacts employee satisfaction and retention through timely and accurate HR service delivery.
  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of employee records and policy documentation.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Communicates clearly with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with teams including finance, IT, and operations.
  • Supports a culture of transparency, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Influence Responsibility/Level of Interaction
  • Works closely with team members, hiring managers, and senior leaders.
  • Acts as a trusted resource on policy interpretation and standard procedures.
  • May influence junior staff through mentorship or training support.
Supervisory Responsibility and Autonomy
  • Supervisory Responsibility: None, but may serve as a mentor or onboarding resource for new HR team members.
  • Autonomy: Works independently on assigned tasks with moderate supervision. Exercises judgment in managing routine HR matters and escalates complex issues as needed.
Required Skills & Essential Qualities Technical Skills
  • HRIS administration (e.g., Paycom, Paylocity, Bamboo

    HR, or similar)
  • Report generation and compliance tracking
  • Understanding of employment regulations (FMLA, ADA, etc.)

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications
