Senior Claims Litigation Specialist – Construction Defect

Responsibilities- Analyze liability and damage issues in connection with claims made against our insureds and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Analyze insurance coverage issues and draft coverage positional letters accordingly.
- Retain and supervise outside counsel in the defense of our insureds to effectively resolve claims.
- Evaluate the full diary of pending matters to support accurate reserves posting.
- Maintain and develop relationships with insureds, brokers, and outside counsel.
- Provide support and information to underwriters in evaluating risk on particular accounts.
- Compose and transmit regular, timely, complex Large Loss Reports and other detailed reporting documents.
- Manage and monitor file caseload using various resources.
Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner is essential.
Qualifications- Minimum 10 years of experience handling Excess & Surplus claims and/or a 4‑year degree plus.
- Experience handling Commercial General Liability with a focus on Construction Defect claims.
- Full knowledge of insurance contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements, and insurance regulation.
- Aptitude for evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting contracts and other complex information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows computer programs, including Word, Excel, and e‑mail.
- Current Claims Adjuster licenses in one or more states preferred; willingness to obtain additional state licensures.
This position can be fully remote for candidates outside a commutable distance to our offices. Offices are based in Glen Allen, VA or Scottsdale, AZ on a hybrid schedule—four days in the office and one remote day, as appropriate.
