Telephone Claims Adjuster - National General
National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, accident, and health insurance through a network of independent agents and direct consumer sales.
We are hiring an experienced Material Damage Telephone Adjuster who will investigate and adjust auto claims from our Scottsdale office and then transition to a work‑from‑home role.
Job DescriptionInvestigate and confirm the facts of loss for basic to advanced automobile accidents; determine coverage, liability, damages, and adjust claims within the authority limits.
Key Responsibilities- Handle investigation of all aspects of auto claims (coverage, damages, subrogation) with discretion and independence within an increased level of authority.
- Apply intermediate understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and internal relationships.
- Determine subrogation or fraud potential and decide how to handle.
- Identify customer needs and meet them using proper customer service skills.
- Recognize and identify vehicle body parts and understand other potential property damage.
- For claims involving fraud or subrogation, partner with assigned representatives from those areas to achieve the best outcome.
This position does not have supervisory duties.
Qualifications Experience- 2 or more years of related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required.
- Customer service orientation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills within a global case management perspective.
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills; ability to detect differences and recognize issues from multiple sources.
- Proficiency in Word and Outlook.
The base compensation ranges for this role are:
- Adjuster Analyst III: $50,000.00 – $65,300.00
- Adjuster Cons I: $50,000.00 – $74,120.00
- Adjuster Cons II: $56,000.00 – $82,500.00
- Adjuster Sr Cons I: $68,500 – $
Compensation may also include incentive pay such as commission or bonuses.
