The Lab for Cellular Immunotherapy and Immunoengineering (LCII) led by Dr. Gloria Kim is in the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Immunology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science at Mayo Clinic.
Our lab develops and translates next-generation cell therapies for autoimmune diseases, transplantation, and cancer. This position focuses on advancing CAR-Treg and CAR-T cell therapies, as well as engineering platforms such as mRNA-LNP–based systems for the in vivo engineering of immune cells to promote immune tolerance, tissue protection, and anti-tumor immunity. We work closely with clinicians to accelerate the clinical translation of these technologies.
We seek individuals eager to apply their expertise in T cell engineering, immunology, or biomedical engineering to advance CAR-Treg and CAR-T cell therapies and contribute to the development of in vivo immune cell engineering platforms such as mRNA-LNP systems. Candidates will have the opportunity to investigate mechanisms of immune tolerance, tissue repair, and anti-tumor responses, and to help translate these findings into clinically relevant therapies.
Our research is highly translational, with the ultimate goal of delivering next-generation engineered immune cell therapies to patients with autoimmune diseases, transplant-related complications, and cancer.
