Job DescriptionThe Lab for Cellular Immunotherapy and Immunoengineering (LCII), led by Dr. Gloria Kim, is part of the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Immunology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Our lab develops and translates next‑generation cell therapies for autoimmune diseases, transplantation, and cancer. This position focuses on advancing CAR‑Treg and CAR‑T cell therapies, and engineering platforms such as mRNA‑LNP‑based systems for in vivo engineering of immune cells to promote immune tolerance, tissue protection, and anti‑tumor immunity.
We work closely with clinicians to accelerate clinical translation of these technologies.
We seek individuals eager to apply expertise in T cell engineering, immunology, or biomedical engineering to advance CAR‑Treg and CAR‑T cell therapies and contribute to the development of in vivo immune cell engineering platforms such as mRNA‑LNP systems. Candidates will investigate mechanisms of immune tolerance, tissue repair, and anti‑tumor responses, and translate findings into clinically relevant therapies. Our research is highly translational, with the ultimate goal of delivering next‑generation engineered immune cell therapies to patients with autoimmune diseases, transplant‑related complications, and cancer.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate potential for research as evidenced by training and peer‑reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.
