Position Overview
The Food Prep is a team member of the Back of House. It is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate, efficient food preparation and maintaining core values during execution. The Food Prep is expected to be a role model for the D’Lite company culture and uphold the highest standards in overall guest experience by delivering quality food and service within a clean, friendly and safe dining environment.

The Food Prep reports directly to the Shift Leader (SL) and General Manager (GM). It isischerly accountable for executing policies, procedures and directions from SL and/or GM. Completion of the D’Lite Team Member Training Program and the Kitchen Training Program is required. Proficiency in spoken and written English is preferred to communicate with customers, vendors and leadership, and the Food Prep must maintain a professional appearance, speech and behavior at all times.

- Provide superior consistency for customers through efficient, accurate, and properly prepped food meeting company standards.
- Continuously test all food products for taste, appearance and consistency to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Clean and maintain the kitchen regularly, performing timely maintenance on all machines and equipment.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the entire menu, ingredients, modifications and filial walls.
- Familiarize with new menu items and their preparation and cooking times.
- Support the Back of House team by ensuring that prep is completed, coolers are stocked, equipment is clean, and ready for service at all times, displaying a friendly, positive attitude that aligns with D’Lite core values.
- Use the Prep Board accurately and consistently.
- Execute primary and secondary responsibilities as well as daily duties at a superior level.
- Remain calm during high‑volume or unusual events to keep store operations standard and set a positive example for the team.
- Assist with par, inventory and ordering of food supply.
- Coordinate food service with other departments as needed.
- Maintain accurate temperature logs on cooling equipment and keep waste and temperature logs.
- Keep the kitchen at a high standard and adhere to sanitation guidelines compliant with health department and company standards.
- Perform other team members’ duties as required.
- Protect company passwords and intellectual property.
- Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude and maintain professional conduct and appearance.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, systems and processes.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance; scheduled hours are Sunday–Saturday 10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. with shifts of 4–8 hours.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- High school graduate preferred.
- At least 1 year of food preparation and/or kitchen experience.
- Demonstrated cooking skills and ability to follow established protocols and recipes.
- Dependable, honest, trustworthy and possessing integrity.
- Positive attitude and strong personal drive.
- Courteous and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Willingness and ability to learn in a fast‑paced sales environment.
- Exceptional communication skills.
