SummaryUnder the direction of the Security Director, manages and coordinates the activities of the Security Department resulting in an efficient and economic operation, supports revenue centers and embraces the mission of Casino Arizona as it relates to quality guest service and interactions. Assures the protection of company assets, reputation and integrity. Assures the overall safety of our guests, employees and property as a whole.
Supervises all investigations conducted by security personnel.
This job is a Safety Sensitive Position that will be subject to Drug & Alcohol Testing.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises the Security Shift Supervisor, Access Control Specialist, Field Training Officer Supervisor and Security Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include participating in the interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Directs property security personnel in a way that achieves maximum performance, safety, security and customer service.
- Answers for property specific financial expenditures, payroll, overtime allocations and budgeting.
- Seeks executive approval for severe disciplinary actions.
- Responsible for maintaining property staffing levels.
- Notifies executive management of any major emergency, critical event or incident that may directly or indirectly have an adverse impact on Casino Arizona or operations.
- Oversees property specific training, medical supplies and EMT personnel, Incident Tracking System, Lost and Found process, bi‑weekly payroll, work schedules, department uses of force, key inventory system and access control, security internal controls.
- Coordinates with appropriate departments or law enforcement agencies for protection of patrons and employees against non‑regulatory criminal, illegal or undesirable activity.
- Ensures departmental policies, state gaming compact, tribal gaming ordinances, casino policies and applicable laws are followed.
- Ensures physical safety of guests and employees and protects the casino from illegal activity.
- Detains for probable cause persons to notify law enforcement or appropriate authorities.
- Detects illegal activity inside the casino, parking lot and casino grounds.
- Observes and reports suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
- Maintains a record of all criminal activities or violations of the compact or ordinance that occur in the casino; documents and sends copies to the Safety Coordinator.
- Ensures security personnel are properly trained in first aid and CPR.
- Approves PTO, shift changes and leaves of absence.
- Files department reports and documentation with the Human Resources Director.
- Prepares annual performance reviews and provides departmental counseling for security personnel.
- Safeguards casino assets and funds.
- Assists in the preparation of departmental budgets and maintains control of expenditures.
- Provides depositions/statements and testifies in court or other legal proceedings as required.
- Enforces all applicable regulations under Title 31, Chapter X.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations; attends Title 31/Anti‑Money Laundering training at least once a year.
High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate degree required; 7 to 10 years management experience in a security, law enforcement or military environment; valid Arizona driver’s license.
Excellent PC skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
