Blue Yonder's Platform Data Cloud team’s mission is to reimagine the supply chain technology and serve as the backbone of Blue Yonder’s SaaS products. The role serves as one of the key global architects focused on innovation in SaaS platform engineering, spanning infrastructure architecture through enterprise, application platform features, to accelerate our cloud data team’s delivery and solution quality. Primary duties and responsibilities include consistently delivering solid quality in both design and implementation and helping the team shape what is built how.
WhatYou Will Do
Core responsibilities include building productionized data ingestion and processing pipelines in Snowflake, strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, and full fluency with data warehousing concepts. You will focus on innovation and improving delivery effectiveness by driving product development features across the organization in software development, deployment, and infrastructure consistency; provide standardized enterprise solutions for cloud infrastructure and application deployment across multiple products;
apply appropriate software engineering patterns utilizing a meta‑driven systems approach to build robust and scalable systems; exhibit expertise in object‑oriented and functional programming; influence fellow engineers through proposed designs and feedback; demonstrate experience in large‑scale Kubernetes systems and shaping scalable services; and maintain modular and service‑based architectural design. The team currently comprises global associates across US, Canada, India, and Germany and is expected to grow, requiring a quick learner.
Current Technical Environment
- Application Architecture:
Scalable, Resilient, event‑driven, secure multi‑tenant Microservices architecture. - Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)
- Frameworks/Others:
Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake.
Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field REQUIRED. Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in software development and 5+ years of experience in Snowflake data engineering, with Python/Streamlit preferred.
Must have Skill- Expertise with Snowflake Architecture – Compute/Storage/Cloud Services
- Ability to write Advanced SQL
- Bulk data copy using Snowflake/Snowpipe/Tasks/Streams
- Time travel, Zero Copy Cloning
- Optimizer, Metadata Manager
- Role‑based access control (RBAC)
- Data Sharing/Marketplace/ Listings/ Data Exchanges
- DR – Replication/Failovers
- Performance Optimizations
- Stored procedures and UDFs + External Functions
- Python OR Streamlit for data apps & automation
Snowflake Admin Activities, Streamlit (Development Experience), Understanding of Cost Chargebacks in Snowflake, experience with JSON Flattening, SnowSQL/SnowCLI and Snowsight.
Snowflake Architect certification is preferredExperience building robust, highly available, and scalable data lakes. Able to deliver POC’s within weeks for new Snowflake features and advise on usage with pros/cons of each. Strong experience working with Snowflake is a must and with no‑SQL data stores like Elastic, Postgres. Expert in leveraging continuous integration and robust build/test automation, with a preference for cross‑platform stacks and containerization (Jira, Git, Jenkins).
Experience in one of the public cloud technology stacks in Azure, AWS, GCP. Strong analytical skills to manage complex problems using a number of techniques. Experience in leading complex software product delivery in an Agile environment. Experience in a leadership position responsible for building, motivating and leading high‑performing development teams. Experience with enterprise multi‑tenant software.
