We aim to make serious education accessible, engaging, and affordable. Our mobile app—built in Flutter—is the centerpiece of how students experience Peterson Academy.
The RoleWe’re hiring a Senior Flutter Engineer to take full ownership of the Peterson Academy mobile app as it transitions from external development to our in‑house team. The app is feature‑complete and launching soon; your role will be to maintain, evolve, and enhance it post‑launch.
You’ll work closely with our backend, product, and design teams to improve performance, build new features, and ensure long‑term stability. This is a hands‑on engineering role with significant autonomy, direct product impact, and high expectations.
Responsibilities- Take over full code ownership of the existing Flutter app
- Implement new features and refine the UI/UX in collaboration with design
- Maintain and optimize app performance and reliability
- Manage app store submissions, updates, and release cycles
- Integrate with our backend (Supabase/Firebase)
- Collaborate with the web engineering team to ensure a consistent user experience across platforms
- 4+ years of professional mobile development experience
- 2+ years of production Flutter experience
- Proven track record shipping and maintaining apps in the App Store and Google Play
- Deep understanding of Dart, Flutter architecture, and responsive design
- Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
- Experience integrating with REST/Graph
QL APIs
- Experience with Supabase or Firebase
- Experience working with video components or streaming platforms such as Mux
- Familiarity with full‑stack web development using a framework like Svelte or React
- Interest in education and improving the learning experience
- Highly conscientious

- Comfortable inheriting and improving an existing codebase
- Pragmatic about trade‑offs between polish, performance, and speed
- Willing to work hard and take full responsibility for outcomes
