Job Title:
Civil General Operatives
We are seeking experienced Civil General Operatives to support a major project s temporary role is ideal for those with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks or utilities who want to play a key part in delivering safe and efficient operations.
Salary: PAYE Basic Rate: £16.85 per hour (+ £2.37 holiday pay = £19.22);
Umbrella Rate: £22.68 per hour. Overtime Rates: OT x1.4: £26.90 PAYE Total / £31.74 Umbrella; OT x1.8: £34.59 PAYE Total / £40.82 Umbrella.
Location and Working Pattern:
Site:
Industrial. Duration: 3-4 months.
Start Date:
ASAP.
Hours:
10-12 hours per day.
- Prepare work areas, clear debris, and assist with temporary works.
- Safely handle and store materials through manual handling or basic plant.
- Assist civil trades such as ground workers, steel fixers and machine operators.
- Perform labouring tasks including digging, back filling, and compacting.
- Follow HSE regulations, maintain PPE use, report hazards and uphold site safety.
- Operate small tools (such as wackers, saws, breakers) if trained, ensuring tools remain in good condition.
- Maintain tidy working areas and clear access routes.
- Carry out instructions from supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- CSCS or CCNSG card.
- Experience in civil engineering, groundworks, utilities, or general construction.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow site instructions.
- Good physical fitness and strong awareness of site safety.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, materials and processes.
- Driving licence preferred.
- CPCS cards or plant machinery experience.
- Previous experience on heavy industrial sites.
