Teacher Active is working in partnership with a respected Special Educational Needs and Disabilities school in Scunthorpe. The school which is currently undergoing expansion plans to increase student numbers, prides itself on providing a nurturing, inclusive setting where pupils are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are recruiting a committed SEND Teacher to join this specialist provision and to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, adapted teaching to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD). All subject disciplines will be welcomed, but PE in particular would be a strong match.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for creating positive and structured learning experiences by:

Designing and delivering lessons aligned with individual EHCP outcomes

Teaching small classes with the support of skilled Teaching Assistants

Adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse communication and learning needs

Promoting emotional regulation through consistent behaviour support approaches

Working collaboratively with families, external professionals, and school staff

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND

Be flexible, empathetic, and resilient in their approach to teaching

Demonstrate strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills

Show a clear commitment to inclusive and child-centred education
