AboutThe Role
Develop and teach PSHE lessons for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, using trauma‑informed, relationship‑based approaches.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver creative, accessible PSHE lessons across Key Stages, tailored to individual emotional and educational needs.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, emotional literacy, healthy relationships and personal awareness.
- Use trauma‑informed, relationship‑based approaches to reduce anxiety and build trust.
- Provide clear, supportive feedback to encourage personal growth and celebrate progress.
- Collaborate closely with therapists, pastoral staff and behaviour specialists to ensure a holistic therapeutic approach for every learner.
- Qualified – holding QTS or QTLS (essential).
- Experienced in SEMH, SEN or alternative provision settings (desirable).
- Passionate about empowering vulnerable young people and supporting personal development.
- Patient, empathetic and resilient, with a commitment to trauma‑informed practice.
- A strong communicator, able to build positive, dependable relationships with pupils.
- Collaborative, with a proactive approach to contributing to a supportive school culture.
