Simply Education is delighted to be recruiting a teaching assistant in the Scunthorpe area. Simply Education is currently working with an SEMH school in Scunthorpe to recruit a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students in a dynamic and nurturing environment.
This will be a full time position and starting as soon as possible.
As a teaching assistant in an SEMH provision, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with classroom activities and educational programs.
- Providing one-on-one support to students to help them achieve their learning goals.
- Managing and supporting challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in SEMH, SEN, or a similar educational setting.
- A high level of resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring young people.
- Relevant experience in an educational or care setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH and related behavioural strategies.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
