Are you friendly, customer‑focused and passionate about great food? We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our busy onsite catering team and help us deliver an excellent service to students, staff and visitors.
In this role, you will support the preparation and service of food and drinks, maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene, and ensure every customer receives a warm welcome. This is a varied position suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in their work.

Actual Salary: £17,236.31 per annum
Working Pattern:
Monday - Friday (7:30am - 1:30pm) / 30 hours per week
- Relevant Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to work towards this)
- Recent experience in a similar catering or customer‑facing role
- Experience of food preparation, cooking and service
- Friendly, professional manner with excellent timekeeping
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team, with good communication skills
- Assist in the preparation of food, snacks, drinks and baked items within the College’s catering facilities
- Maintain a clean, tidy and hygienic kitchen and eating area at all times
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly service, exceeding customer expectations
- Be visible, approachable and knowledgeable about the food items available throughout service periods
- Work collaboratively as a positive member of the catering team, supporting wider Estates and Facilities where needed
- Report customer requests and complaints promptly to the Catering Manager
- Undertake mandatory and role‑specific training, contributing to continuous improvement and service quality
