Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a well-respected specialist school in Scunthorpe. This setting provides high-quality education and care for pupils with a wide range of needs and prides itself on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner is supported to thrive.

About the Setting

The school caters for pupils with a variety of complex needs, including SEMH, physical disabilities, communication difficulties, and complex medical requirements. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment, ensuring every pupil receives tailored support to meet their individual goals.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with diverse SEN needs
  • Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and behaviour support
  • Support with personal care or medical needs where required
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual learning plans
  • Contribute to a caring and positive atmosphere for all students

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly SEMH, autism, or complex medical needs
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Additional related training (e.g., Team Teach, Moving & Handling, Makaton, medical or safeguarding training) - highly advantageous
  • Availability to start as soon as possible
