SEN Teacher (English/Humanities Focus)

Start Date: After Easter (earlier start possible for the right candidate)

Contract: Full-time

Qualifications: QTS required

Are you an experienced SEND Teacher with a passion for helping pupils with complex learning needs thrive? A specialist SEND school in the Scunthorpe area is looking for a dedicated and adaptable teacher to join their team after Easter.

About the School

This is a warm, well-established specialist provision supporting children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The school caters primarily for pupils with:

  • Moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Communication and interaction needs, including autism
  • Social, emotional and mental health challenges
  • Associated sensory or cognitive needs

The Role

The leadership team is seeking an all-round SEND teacher with strengths in English and/or Humanities who can deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons to meet a broad spectrum of needs.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver curriculum content tailored to individual EHCPs
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and leaders
  • Build positive relationships with pupils who may require additional pastoral care
  • Contribute to a supportive, forward-thinking, and inclusive school culture

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SEND teaching experience, ideally within a setting supporting needs similar to those listed above
  • Confidence teaching across key stages with flexibility to adapt planning and delivery
  • A nurturing, resilient, and student-centred approach
