GSL Education is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools across Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. This is a full-time, temporary position with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential both academically and socially. You'll play a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
- Support pupils with their emotional, social, and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where required.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support provided.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday on a full-time basis.
- Previous experience working in an educational setting, care environment, or support work role is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or SEND are advantageous but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education).
