Position: Lecturer - Built Environment (Part Time)

Lecturer in Built Environment

We are seeking a passionate lecturer to join our Construction team, delivering T Level construction courses and shaping the future of the built environment sector.

About the Role

Responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching across a range of further and higher education programmes, with a focus on T Level construction. The role includes curriculum development, assessment and supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

Working Pattern

Wednesday & Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm (15 hours per week)

Qualifications
  • HNC/HND or degree in Construction Management or relevant industry experience.
  • A demonstrable experience in a lecturing or training role within Further or Higher Education.
  • Strong subject expertise to enhance the quality of taught programmes.
  • Knowledge and experience of innovative learning and teaching techniques.
  • Understanding of education/training initiatives and ability to use ICT as a teaching tool.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lessons and assess student work across Built Environment programmes.
  • Develop curriculum materials and contribute to subject area development.
  • Coordinate course teams and support the day‑to‑day running of programmes.
  • Support learners through mentoring, guidance and individualised learning plans.
  • Participate in course verification, quality assurance and departmental planning.
  • Recruit and enrol students, meeting enrolment targets.
  • Undertake professional development and contribute to the College’s appraisal system.
  • Enrolment onto the Teachers Pension Scheme – 28.68% Employers contribution.
