The RoleTo perform daily duties as part of the Warehouse Team while working in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, food safety legislation, and quality standards specified by our customers. Duties include operating MHEs, de‑racking, racking, picking, palletisation, loading, and general housekeeping.
Schedule:
Monday to Thursday, 42 hours per week: 7:00 pm‑3:00 am Monday, 7:00 pm‑5:00 am Tuesday, 7:00 pm‑7:00 am Wednesday‑Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the requirements of the daily picking sheets distributed by the Team Leader or Shift Manager.
- Communicate any stock shortages to the Team Leader to allow investigation and communication with internal and external customers.
- Store product intake on correct racking in accordance with stock rotation procedures and shelf‑life specifications, ensuring correct scanning for full traceability.
- Maintain health, safety and welfare of yourself and other employees in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and COSHH regulations, reporting all accidents and near‑misses.
- Respect and honour Sofina’s ethical policies and codes of conduct when interacting with colleagues.
- Undertake stock rotation using FIFO.
- Load finished products onto vehicles as instructed.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required.
- Complete all relevant paperwork such as temperature records accurately and within specified time frames.
- Operate only tools, equipment, machines or vehicles for which you have received full training and are sign‑fit to use.
- Provide and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Ensure the achievement of daily departmental targets as determined by your line manager in a time‑effective manner.
- Wear the correct personal protective clothing appropriate to each production area and task.
- Be familiar with qualified first aiders and the first aid procedure.
- Know all fire exits and the emergency evacuation procedure, and be aware of the nominated fire marshals.
- Adhere to all rules, processes and procedures set out by the Despatch department and other key disciplines such as Warehouse Management, Supply Chain, Health and Safety, Human Resources, and Technical.
- Carry out any other reasonable request as instructed by your line manager.
- General awareness of basic food hygiene.
- Strong awareness of Health and Safety principles.
- Fork‑lift or counter‑balance licence desirable but not essential.
- Ability to communicate, understand and follow instructions.
- Experience in a warehouse and/or picking environment.
