Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead and deliver engineering projects across the site, including R&D. The role involves modernising plant infrastructure, ensuring compliance with COMAH and ATEX regulations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives at a 30‑year‑old chemical manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities- Manage engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and budget control.
- Deliver upgrades and modifications to plant equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with COMAH and ATEX requirements in all project work.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance and HSEQ teams to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
- Provide technical input into risk assessments, safety studies and regulatory submissions.
- Drive innovation and reliability improvements across the site.
- Communicate purpose and technical solutions for projects in an easy way to non‑technical people.
- Degree‑qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related discipline).
- Proven experience in project engineering within chemical, petrochemical or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of COMAH regulations and ATEX requirements.
- Excellent project management skills with ability to deliver complex projects safely, on time, within scope and cost.
- Strong, clear communication and stakeholder management skills.
