We are currently recruiting for an
Engineering Lecturer
to join a highly established engineering training organisation, delivering high-quality technical education and development to the next generation of engineers.
You don't necessarily need previous teaching experience. If you have a
degree and strong industry experience
, you will be supported to transition into education, with funding and support available to complete a
Cert Ed or PGCE
.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys sharing knowledge, mentoring others and wants to make a genuine difference to the future engineering workforce.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Engineering Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, practical and classroom-based learning to engineering apprentices and adult learners across Level 3, 4 and 5 programmes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality engineering teaching and learning.
- Supporting apprentices and adult learners to develop their technical knowledge and practical understanding.
- Teaching subjects including
Mechanical Principles, Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Engineering Design, Fluid Mechanics and CAD
. - Covering areas such as
Health & Safety, Lean Manufacturing, Production Engineering and Quality & Process Improvement
. - Supporting learners with professional engineering management and development.
- Supervising Level 3 and Level 4 engineering projects.
- Supporting Level 5 research projects.
- Developing engaging learning materials and maintaining high standards of learner support.
- Helping learners build the knowledge, skills and confidence required to progress within the engineering industry.
We are looking for an experienced engineering professional who is ready to share their knowledge and help develop future engineers.
You will ideally have:
- A
degree in Engineering or a related discipline – essential
. - Significant relevant engineering industry experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and IT skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
- A genuine interest in mentoring, developing and supporting others.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle –
essential
due to travel between training centres.
Teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
Candidates without a teaching qualification will be supported and funded to complete a
Cert Ed or PGCE
. This qualification will be completed in the candidate's own time.
