Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) –
Location:
Doncaster area
Salary:
Up to £46,300 per annum
Contract:
Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern:
Weekly rotating shifts
- 6:00am - 2:00pm (Monday to Friday)
- 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Monday to Friday)
- 10:00pm - 6:00am (Sunday to Thursday)
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, fast-paced food manufacturing site in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional engineering team within a forward-thinking FMCG environment.
The RoleAs a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, developing, and improving plant machinery and associated services. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in line with quality standards.
Responsibilities- Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, fixtures, and buildings
- Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Completing all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities in line with safe working practices
- Applying structured fault-finding techniques and root cause analysis
- Supporting engineering projects, machinery installations, and equipment upgrades
- Monitoring equipment performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Managing and organising spare parts, including sourcing components
- Maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and records
- Working closely with production and technical teams to drive performance improvements
- Promoting high standards of Health & Safety, quality, and hygiene at all times
- Level 3 Engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship (electrically biased preferred)
- 17th or 18th Edition BS7671
- Proven maintenance experience within a factory/FMCG environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- PLC knowledge advantageous but not essential
- Refrigeration knowledge desirable
- Experience working on busy production lines
- Able to manage projects from initiation to completion
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
