Questech Recruitment are currently seeking a Production Manager to join one of our well-established packaging manufacturer clients in the Scunthorpe area.

Shifts:

Monday to Friday (day shift)

Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee production operations and coordinate associated departments including pulping, production, and packing across multiple sites.
  • Analyse and improve production planning processes.
  • Establish and maintain production conditions to meet agreed quality specifications, including BRC standards.
  • Lead and embed Lean manufacturing and 5S practices within the production environment.
  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures across manufacturing processes.
  • Agree, direct, and monitor short- and medium-term operational strategies and facility plans.
  • Drive best practice initiatives to ensure quality and efficiency objectives are achieved.
  • Organise and manage workflow systems to maximise productivity.
  • Investigate and implement new production methods and process improvements.
  • Maintain effective relationships with equipment suppliers and external partners.
  • Set and manage KPIs to drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Analyse statistical data to determine optimal production control levels.
  • Work closely with sales teams to forecast production demand.
  • Address customer concerns relating to finished products.
  • Respond proactively to QA issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Improve communication between production and wider business functions.
  • Develop team capability, manage performance, and address underperformance where necessary.
  • Monitor labour utilisation and take action to control costs.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Strong understanding of production machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working within quality-controlled environments and BRC standards.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, costing, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Experience measuring team and individual performance against KPIs and OEE targets.
  • Background in fast-paced manufacturing environments producing short lead-time products.
