Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled)
Location: Doncaster area
Salary: Up to £46,300 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Weekly rotating shifts:
6:00am 2:00pm (Monday to Friday)
2:00pm 10:00pm (Monday to Friday)
10:00pm 6:00am (Sunday to Thursday)
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, fast-paced food manufacturing site in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional engineering team within a forward-thinking FMCG environment.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, developing, and improving plant machinery and associated services. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in line with quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, fixtures, and buildings
Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Completing all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities in line with safe working practices
Applying structured fault-finding techniques and root cause analysis
Supporting engineering projects, machinery installations, and equipment upgrades
Monitoring equipment performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
Managing and organising spare parts, including sourcing components
Maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and records
Working closely with production and technical teams to drive performance improvements
Promoting high standards of Health & Safety, quality, and hygiene at all times
About You
Level 3 Engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship (electrically biased preferred)
17th or 18th Edition BS7671
Proven maintenance experience within a factory/FMCG environment
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
PLC knowledge advantageous but not essential
Refrigeration knowledge desirable
Experience working on busy production lines
Able to manage projects from initiation to completion
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proactive, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
