St George’s and the Church of the Resurrection are entering an exciting new chapter as part of the Diocese of Lincoln’s Strategic Development Fund Revitalisation Programme
, working as one church across two locations. This is a rare opportunity to join a multi‑generational ministry team at the very beginning of a long‑term vision to grow congregations, deepen discipleship, and bless the communities of Crosby and Berkeley
.
Our two churches serve a combined population of around 20,000 people in the richly diverse areas of Crosby and Berkeley. St George’s sits in one of the 5.5% most deprived parishes in the Church of England and is connected physically to the Crosby One Community Centre
, serving people of many cultures and faiths. The Church of the Resurrection sits at the heart of a large housing estate and is rediscovering its place as a community hub.
We are committed to becoming inclusive, modern Anglo‑Catholic communities
, welcoming all and reflecting the diversity of our parish. We especially encourage applications from UKME/GMH candidates, LGBTQ+ people, those with disabilities, and those returning to work.
The Role
As part of our new Multi‑Generational Team
, you will work primarily from the Church of the Resurrection
, with regular involvement at St George’s Church
. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children and young people encounter Jesus, grow in discipleship, and find belonging in the church family.
- Develop outreach and discipleship opportunities for children and young people aged 0–17
- Build relationships with local families and schools
- Create and deliver engaging Sunday and midweek programmes
- Encourage young people to live out their faith day‑to‑day
- Recruit, train, and support a growing team of volunteers
- Champion safeguarding, ensuring our policies are embedded across all activities
- Support the strategic development of new initiatives as the revitalisation grows
This is a role for someone who enjoys creativity, teamwork, and building something new from the ground up.
