Overview
We are seeking a Band 5 Nurse to join our established Gynaecology team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to women accessing gynaecological services. The post involves working across the outpatient gynaecology clinics, Gynae Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and specialist services, supporting patients through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery while maintaining dignity, privacy, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care for patients with gynaecological conditions
- Assist with procedures such as cervical screenings, biopsies, hysteroscopies, and minor surgeries
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and theatre lists
- Provide pre- and post-operative care and patient education
- Offer emotional support and sensitive communication around intimate health issues
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
- Promote women s health education, including contraception and sexual health advice
- Ensure infection control, safeguarding, and patient dignity at all times
