Paediatric Staff Nurse

Job Overview

We are looking to expand our current Paediatric Staff Nurse team and would like to hear from enthusiastic and committed Paediatric nurses to join our busy ward at Scunthorpe General Hospital. Applicants should hold 1st level registration and, like the rest of our nursing team, demonstrate motivation towards delivering the highest standard of nursing care and the ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.

• Registered nurse working as part of a ward/department team, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of children with medical and surgical illness.
• Promote a safe working environment for the children in our care.
• Act as a registered nurse holder who is personally accountable for their practice and must adhere to NMC standards.
• Be an effective professional role model for staff.
• Maintain own professional development through ongoing education and development, ensuring that PREP requirements are met together with all mandatory training.

• Hold a degree or diploma in Nursing Child Branch or be a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse.
• Qualified mentor (ENB 998 or mentorship award or equivalent) or working towards it.
• Evidence of post‑registration development in the relevant specialty.
• Minimum six months post‑registration experience in relevant specialty.
• Training in handling and administration of blood.
• Disclosure and Barring Service Check required.
